This is a hands-on committee that helps Fr. Jeff and Deacon Phil plan, organize and execute all liturgical events at Annunciation. This includes music, flowers, decorations, colors, furnishings and set ups for Masses and various church and liturgical celebrations. This can extend to organizing and managing processions and cemetery events. We strive to make all liturgical events meaningful, engaging, and beautiful!
OCIA (formerly known as RCIA) is the formal process through which adults and older children are initiated into the Roman Catholic Church. Our purpose is to guide inquirers in learning about the Catholic faith. The OCIA process is a personalized, spiritual journey of education, conversion, and prayer. This process prepares participants for the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist), typically at the Easter Vigil. Meetings occur on a weekly basis, and focus on teaching Catholic doctrine and encouraging meaningful discussions about faith.
OCIA participants: Anyone seeking to learn about the Catholic faith! This includes non-baptized people, baptized Christians from other denominations, and baptized Catholics seeking to complete their sacraments into full communion with the Catholic Church.
OCIA teachers: Anyone with knowledge of the Catholic faith! We encourage anyone with an interest in teaching about Catholicism to consider joining, even if only as a one-time guest speaker.

We start our year in September and meet through April/May. We meet on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. Sacraments are a 2-year preparation. It is important to be enrolled in our Catechism classes so we can have strong faithful Catholic families.
Our Catechism class curriculum is based on God’s word, the Bible, Catholic Tradition, and Catholic Catechesis. We have improved our curriculum and are getting the parents involved; to help them grow in their knowledge of our Catholic Traditions so they can grow in their faith as a family. We want to build strong Catholic families by focusing on Catholic Catechesis, the Bible, and our Catholic Traditions. This will make our families stronger in their Catholic faith and love for Jesus.
We are also helping our families bring back some of our Catholic Devotions within their families. Starting this year, we have included an at home studies and monthly home projects. We had a creation project, and creating a prayer space in their home. We are learning about the Mass during Lent. They read Bible stories as a family and to attend Mass as a family on Sunday or Saturday evenings and Holy Days.
